Ok a lil bit about me. Ive Owned mostly 2nd gen Camaros...and swapped civics. I recently got a 95 GT(s). It has the aode trans and 5.0 engine.. Now I was wondering what the difference is between the regular GT and the low budget GTs like mine?

Also I have a problem with my 95. The CEL comes on usualy after say about5-10 minutes of driving. The odd thing is say the CEL is on...then I shut off the car and start it up the CEL goes away for about 5 minutes of so. I havnt brought it to any of the auto stores to get it scaned because Id rather ask mustang people. No offense the auto parts store guys. Im assuming that its the 02 sensors...Does my car only have 2 02 sensors? thanks for the help

Heres a Pic..its all stock

GTs...has spoiler and ac as only options I guess.

well, if I'm not mistaken...the gts has the same power as the gt..the only differences are the luxury type things. No power windows/ac/foglights (I think)....just a weight saving thing that ford did. Someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in I'm sure.

Also, you can check the codes yourself. All you need to do is go to the store and get an obd1 code scanner for like 20 bux....you can also use a paperclip but I've never done it that way so someone else can explain that.

Report back with the codes it throws (even though the light is off..the code is still saved on the computer so you can retrieve it) and then we can help ya out

welcome to the best place for our year stangs :nice:

:stangnet:

Yea, a GTS is just a stripped down version, you could get it with no A/C. radio, power windows/locks, V6 seats, no spoiler, no foglights. You could get all of that stuff as an option though, the only thing that a GTS will NOT have 100% is anti-lock brakes.

And I second buying a code puller, they are cheap, and help alot. I scan my car like every other week cause alot of things wont actually throw a CEL.

Welcome!

You can also pull codes with a paperclip or test light if you desire.

FWIW, you could be tossing any number of emissions related codes (TAB/TAD, EGR, etc).

You were smart to ask first because a lot of the parts store databases are incorrect for the 94-95's (half the stuff listed is fox III specific and the other half is mod motor specific). As an e.g., they will probably try tell you that you have 4 lambdas and are OBD-II (which you're not, even though you have an ALDL for OBD-II cars, since the V6's were).

Good luck.

Like HISSIN said, the majority of parts stores will tell you that you have 4 O2 sensors, but they are wrong. When i was getting mine they told me that they had to know if I needed the front or back ones. And they refused to beleive me that ,y car only had two untill we actually went outside and looked at it.

And beofre I got my code scanner I went get it scanned at the parts store and he was trying to pull codes from the plug under the dash which is for OBD II which was used in the V6 cars of our years.

can you guys reccomend which obd1 cel detector I should get? Schucks or auto zone sell these? Awesome I think Im gonna like this site...you guys seem to be quick to help. Thanks!

The one Eric has is the way to go, no doubt. They're about 30 bucks - CSK (a la your Schucks) should stock them. Part number 3145 (if you cant read the numbers in the pic).

Good luck.

BTW, you have found the finest sub-forum on the internet - seriously.

yeah...we can make your car fast :D

spending other people's dough is fun ;)

seriously though, we have some really smart/helpful people on here....if it wasn't for this place my engine would probably still be out my car....and I can promise you it wouldn't have crap for a tune.
