Recently I traded in my 1993 Black Cobra for a 2004 Competition Orange GT. I absolutely loved my cobra but felt it was time to move on. I got the GT yesterday at 2:03pm at Don Davis Ford in Arlington, Texas. I love this color and plan on making it a Boss Shinoda. I wanna do the Mach 1 grill delete, front chin spoiler, paint the rear spoiler flat black like the original black and maybe the trunk lid also flat black, also get the black honeycomb grill for the back and get a specialized license plate. What do you guys think of this. and for those who have the mach 1 grill delete, what do you need to do this. i know that it is a kit but right now i'm lookin at my grill and it looks as if i can just pull some screws out and the honeycomb front grill will come right out. i don't want to mess anything up but will this work without buying the kit. the kit as far as i understand just comes with the black piece of plastic that hugs the opening of the grill around the running pony. is this all the kit provides. thanks guys for the help and i hope to get pics of the car when by next week sometime. thanks

wow thanks guys for the great response. i have a new name now its orange04boss so you can see me there. also here in tx there are alot of boss graphics, i know two at my girlfriends college with them. i just always want a shinoda and this is the only way to get it certified. also i used to own a 1970 boss 302 and miss the boss on the side, lol it too was orange well calypso coral. thanks again guys.

I can understand your wanting to replicate your old Boss Mustang (a classic!) with your new one, but to me anyway the difference is that the original Bosses were Ford products, whereas the modern Shinoda stuff isn't. Sure it's the family of the same guy, but somehow it's not the same...

As for getting certified, that only means the Shinoda company recognizes it as a Boss, right? I mean Ford wouldn't... Something to consider is that if Ford ends up making another Boss Mustang, yours will not be considered in the same league.

And the side lettering on the Shinoda package seems out of proportion to the car. The lettering on your original Boss was nowhere near as big. And the original Boss hood graphics are way cooler than the new Shinoda stuff.

Have you looked into maybe having a decal shop fabricate ones based on your design?? Maybe that'll give you what you're looking for...

i thought about that having a decal shop make me one but i don't know where to go. i just wanted to be certified thats all. hmm. good idea though, maybe ford will come up with a boss. that would be so cool. i think this boss is in memory of larry, u know.

i've never understood why someone would put the boss graphics..they're repulsive. everyhting else you want to do sounds safe.

I soo agree. Its a gorgeous color so why cover it up with walmart-racer graphics? Please pelase don't, hehe. Congrats on the purchase though!

The kit includes two pieces of plactic, one that covers the holes that will be in your bumper cover after you remove the screws that hold it on from the underside (You have to bend it back really carefully and unscrew them... its kinda weird) and a top piece that has the brace for the floating pony (without the dumb corral around it) I suppose you could just take it out and leave it like that but there'd be no pony and those unfilled holes in the bumper cover... Nice car by the way, saw a comp orange GT the other day and it's pretty cool... Got the urge to spray paint a Dixie flag on the top and write General Lee on the side like Dukes of Hazzard. - Mark
