New to the SN95 world

I owned an 87 and 89 foxbody and learned all the nuances those cars have...like certain things breaking and specific things that just happen to everyone with those cars...(ie the center console lid, ash tray lid, and driver seat breaking) i also knew what was best performance-wise to do to them stock.... i am purchasing a 95 gt with 80k on it, however i know nothing about the sn95's and was wondering if anyone could tell me the stupid little (or big) things that happen to all of these cars at some time or another. if anyone could help me out that'd be awesome!

My Classic 5.0 failures

1. The a/c will go out.
2. My passenger side window decided to stop rolling up and down.

Other than that...my 95 GT has been nothing but spectacular! Welcome!

I have also had my tstat go out and needed a new radiator. But that with 150k on it.

The harmonic balancer is also another thing that tends to go. With only 80K on the one your have that's not bad at all though.

Due to body flex, the radiator will eventually crack on the passenger side.

The power seat track tends to break, requiring replacement.

The harmonic balancer is a 2-piece; it may spin and throw off the balance and timing.

Computer is more sensitive to engine mods (especially anything that changes engine vacuum), so you will have to chip the computer sooner than a Fox with the same mods

I admit I don't know foxes that well, so I can't think of anything else.

I never heard of the radiator flex issue. My 95 GT had a supercharger on it w/ no body stiffening (sub frames) or anything and 120K on the clicker w/ the stock radiator and I was fine. Not to say that it does not happen I just never heard of it as being a common problem.

Oh yea i forgot to add those small things i fixed when i got the car...i bought it with 91k and a bad harmonic balancer..replaced it and about a month later my water pump went out...other than THAT...its been great!

It's common if you own an aftermarket aluminum radiator

Most common "bigger" problems are the harmonic balancer like stated above and the PIP sensor will usually drive you nuts. If it's an auto, the aod-es are a pile of turds from the factory and some loose overdrive and then 3rd and then go. otherwise mostly its just little stuff. the window problems are due to the plastic bushings disintegrating over time; easy fix.

dont forget about that junk plastic clutch quadrant and clutch cable. that usually ends up needing replaced

Is the clutch quadrant much different than that on a fox body? I changed that on one of mine.

Yeah, the clutch quadrant is crappy on most all Mustangs made post 198X.

And the PIP will definitely give you issues at some point. I've changed mine 8 times in the past year and still having issues with it.

You'll notice that the SN95's tend to turn to the left or right when you turn the steering wheel to the left and right. Something....I think it's called handling....The Foxes didn't do that quite as much.
