Im also in the market for tires now since i have a set of 18s sitting ready to get some rubber. I currently run yokohamas, but was considering going w/ some BFG kdws any comment on these tires any one using them. I liked the yokos but want something better. On a side note, I kinda cant figure all you peeps out. I mean every one is dumping mad cash into go fast mods like, susspension upgrades, HCi's, turbos, and what not. Then look to skimp out on tires
Then on top of all that, I read threads all the time about someone skimping out to save a few bucks on a speed part he and gets torn up about getting what you pay for. Does this make any sence? Or am I the only one who thinks that way? Why bother with the susspension mods when the first one touching the ground and holding all those nice parts up is Crap? JMHO I would think forking over a few extra $s for better rubber would compliment all the susspension mods we all invested in and i bet the few extra $s would be felt on the buttOmeter.

I buy a set of tires every year(I do A LOT of driving). You don't replace your suspension parts that frequently. Money is less of an issue on something that becomes somewhat permanent.
Besides, what does it matter if you most people have a different set of rims for the track?
Personally, my car is pretty much stock and I'm not trying to get any tickets or into an accident. If I had time/money to go to track event, I'd have another set of rims/tires for that. I also have the stock '95 calipers(for now). If I'm not pushing the limits of my car, why do I need a super expensive tire?
IMHO, most 245-45-17 tires are gonna grip better than what other run in their daily drivers, so we're already better off.

Ive got 245/45/17 Nitto 555's in front, and 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's out back, and i love them both. The fronts grip very well, have excellent dry traction, and exceptional wet traction for the price. The rears are actually better in the rain then my old Pirelli 245/45/17's were on my stock rear wheels. For the price, the 555's are a great all around tire and I highly recommend them. I've had Toyo's and Nankangs also, and the Nittos are by far the best....and they have EXCELLENT treadwear.

BFG G-force sports, i got mine for 105 a piece and those were 255 45-17's... i dont know if its the crazy tread pattern you're looking for, but i like it. plus they rank as best bank for the buck on tirerack when you compare all ultra high performance summer tires... they were #4 when i bought them a year ago and still rank in the top 10 with a 97th percentile compared to the top tire! just my .02, i'd get them again...theres actually a 94/95 talk thread i just started on them and other guys like em too
