Picked this up last week. '88 TC 5-spd with alot of miles but runs good. Straight body, good paint, interior is so-so, moonroof and new in dash CD player with Clarion speakers. Oh yeah...................$500. I'm happy now!View attachment 473722

Yeah, where do you people find these deals on Turbo Coupes? Everyone around here that has one actually knows what they're worth!

Don't mean to rub it in guys, but I will anyway! I looked at no less than 6 others.........all under $800 before I settled on this one. They truly are 'a dime a dozen' out here in Cali!

My theory on that is, the american public perceives full size cars powered by 4 cylinders engines as extremely underpowered (ala N/A 2.3), hence, who would want one? However, they don't know what we know! The benefits of a turbocharger!

I fell in love with the look of the '80's 'birds when Bill Elliott started campaigning them in NASCAR. I like the '83-'86's but in terms of style and technology, the '87-'88's are head and shoulders above the rest!

No, the general public is scared to death of turbos...my dad is a perfect example.

When I was in high school I actually wanted a Turbo Coupe...I loved the bodystyle, didn't know much about the turbo 2.3L at the time. My dad wouldn't let me get one because he said "the turbo will go out and it'll cost a fortune to fix." Guess he doesn't know you can get used turbos for $200. And I think that is the general opinion...people think if it has a turbo, and the turbo goes out, it costs $1000 to fix for some reason...

Yeah, no kidding. Every time I look for a Turbo Coupe, I just can't find them except in junkyards. I find more TCs and XR4Tis there than in the classifieds.

thats because everytime people have a problem they take it back to the STEALSHIP!! heck even most of the mom and pop repair shop are geting just as bad.....i was at a repair shop the other day geting some quotes(just cause im lazy) and he was telling a guy on the phone it was gonna be 550$ to put in a fuel pump...im assuming that was the cost of a new one also...still damn expensive.
