Hayden, AL
Previous best was with the old motor, stock cam, and headers.
60ft. 2.03
1/8th ET 9.07
mph. 79.04

new best
60ft. 2.129
1/8th ET 8.939
mph. 80.92

All runs are on stock suspension with street radials.

I later learned that I was shifting too early at 5,600 rpms and with a worse 2.17 60ft I ran a 8.942 at 81.45 mph shifting at 5,900. I didn't get to make but 4 runs. There is alot more left as you can see in my 60ft's I could gain approx. 1-2 tenths without any more parts.

I raced a friend in his 6speed 2001 SS camaro and while he can still outrun me if he makes a mistake I can take him. I actually outrun him twice the other night. His car runs 8.60's at 82-83 mph on a well prepped track. He's also running drag radials.

I am pretty excited to get these gains and I'm getting closer to my goal of being able to outrun my friends LS1. His car still has alot more power than mine and in the 1/4 he'll kill me. I'll hopefully be there after some more bolt on's and a set of AFR 165's early next year.

Humm your car should be a lil faster in the 1/8th mine ran a 9.01et 1/8 mile with 2.19 60foot with 150k miles with only 3.55's and flows was all that was done at the time. I haven't been back since then.
I have no idea what my car would run now after the mods probably not much better.

Keep in mind all I had before was flows, or xpipe,CAI, and 3.73's when I ran a 9.07. It was also smoking and rattling badly before. The new engine only had 320 miles on it when I ran it Saturday and I wasn't powershifting it nor was I shifting it at the right rpm for this new combo not to mention the air was pretty bad. I think I can get a 8.70-8.80 with some better 60ft's and better air. My friend in the SS camaro was only able to run a 8.85 on the same night.

I read your post in tuning and saw the troubles that you are having and hope that you get everything sorted out. Your definately making a big step i have no trust in myself as far as any self tuning. Kinda afraid to blow the now over 200k motor sky high. Espically since it still runs like a champ.
Keep us updated on how everything goes I would really like to see how your numbers turn out after your bugs are worked out and you set up a good tune.

Thanks for the support. I have alot yet to learn. I wish my 78,000 mile original engine didn't need rebuilt I would have surely bought a nice set of aluminum heads by now instead of building a new engine.

Keep at it, you will get that LS1 eventually :nice:

Practice will help out a lot as well. Your 60' time has a lot to do w/ it as well.

I've gotten a best 60ft. of 1.98 on radials with this car with the old engine but the tires went up in smoke on the 1-2 shift really killing my time. I believe I an get my 60's down there again on a good track.

95whitevenom, Hayden is in between Cullman and Warrior on I65 exit 284 about thirty minutes north of the Ham. I didn't even see that you lived in ALabama until now. Where are you from in AL?

Florence up in lauderdale county probably about an hour and a half away from ya.
If the stang wasn't down right now I would say we should get the two snakes together.
It will be back up and running in about a week or two.

That's cool I work with a guy from florence that has a nice 93 cobra. We'll have to do that sometime. It's rare to find any 94-95 GT guys in this area much less cobras.

We are trying to get a large group of guys together in October to go to the NMRA finals in Bowling Green, KY from around here. The plan is to get caravan of mustangs together for the trip up there.

Do you know of Alabama Mustang?

Yea I have herd of Alabama Mustang and I would love to go up to Bowling Green I have been wanting to go for several years now just never got work schedule and all sorted out.
There are a couple of 94-95 GT's around here I two friends with them. There are also like two people with 95 Cobras but I don't know either of them.

Shoot me a PM and we can talk furthere about any of this.
Mods will probably shut don't our general conversation soon since no one else replies and it would be faster.
