Hi guys, so it's still pretty cold here in Ontario, but am going to be getting my engine back before the spring, and before I started the engine build was having some transmission difficulties, throw out bearing, etc., so I sold my transmission in the spring. So I would like to get something for less than 1000 if possible. I still have the pressure plate and clutch from the t5, with a good amount of meat on it, and still have the t5 bellhousing. I was hoping to get a tremec, but brand new kits look like they are almost 3000 all told. So any advice would be great. Can I use the pressure plate and clutch from the t5 on a tremec, and what do you guys think is a reasonable price/performance transmission, for my 347 build, with tfs heads, custom cam, tfs intake, etc. fidanza flywheel, etc. etc. Just kinda hoping I can get the car up and running for the spring, summer season, so though I should probably start considering my transmission options. Any help advice would be great! Thanks guys!

I think you might be kinda limited by that price range. MPS Give these guys a try, my buddy bought a Motorsport ZT5 out of a wrecked Mustang and only paid $500 for it. This was three years ago, he runs mid 12s and the trans is still doing fine.

Ya I guess 2000 for a tremec could be do-able, if I search around, any advice on the type of tremec, some say for 94- can any of these be made to fit, or is it better to stick to a tko 500 or tko 600? o.d. .64 or .82?

i payed 2300 brand new for my tko600, bellhousing, clutch and 31 spline yoke shipped to my door from d and d performance. I dont think thats bad at all imo. That was 2 years ago. I got the .64 ovrdrive. if you car is a track car go with the .82. the trans fits any year. it is the bellhousing that you have to get specific. you cant use a t5 bellhousing and clutch. your better off buying new as a whole package deal like i did, or buy one off someone else.
