New valve covers needed with TFS heads and 1.7 rockers?

these are the valvecovers that i have. they work great and you can't beat the price. you have to use some cork or rubber gaskets. you can't use the stock gasket because of the metal frame on it. also go to summit and get the ford motorsports breather. it looks real nice.

Mootang, your are my hero!! I thought I was gonna have to spend $100+ on some from Summit! I already have a push-in breather I bought a long time ago from Advanced Auto Parts, I guess that will work just as well huh? Thanks!

it should work but its not the one with a pcv valve is it? the reason i ask is because i had one like that and it would fall out. the one i have now is wider and hold in the whole better.

any problems with those being to tall? any rust/pitting? how was the fit near the alt

fit great and the chrome has held up great. The only thing I had to do was grind the botton of the egr down about a quarter inch. I honestly don't have any complaints about the quality. I wouldn't recomend them if i had any problems. also no problems with the fit around the alternator. I've heard the ford motorsports valve covers have a clearence problem around the alternator but these ones fit great.

Are TFS heads higher in the rocker placement? I mean our covers (short as they are) were factory also on the 94-95 cobra's that had 1.7rr. I bought a set of fox covers they are quite tall, and with a paint or polish job look like one of the best covers on the market. I picked mine up for like 20$ used.

I read that the valve rail (or whatever it's called) is raised .375", I know 1.6's clear fine, but 1.7's are apparently pushing it.

Nah it's just a straight breather, no nipple or anything for that line running to the intake tract.

Actually, that's not the case. The 94-95 Cobra's had different covers that are a little bit taller. They also have the word "COBRA" embossed in the center, where we just have an empty space.

I could have swore the 94-95 cobras had the same covers? . My buddy has a 94 lighting that has the same covers a 94-95 GT has and 1.7rr on it (351w with gt40 heads), or did as I bought his when he got his AFR185's and new rockers.

BTW here is a pic of a 94-95 cobra vert (a hardtop option vert at that)
