Just a couple of new mods. I was hoping for 390rwhp, but the clutch let go on the dyno. Also, the aftermarket chrome replicas have been proven to cost about 5-7rwhp.

I added a set of new wheels so that I could use the stock wheels at the track with drag radials. I threw on a new set of brakes too. I have a 228/228, 116 cam that I have not put in, but I am sending it back and going to go with slightly bigger cam. Hoping for 430rwhp. I just weighed the car, and it weighed 3095 pounds with 1/8 tank.

As you can tell, we couldn't fully tune the car, as the clutch is officially fried as too much heat was in it once the rpms got up there.

New chrome wheels

Looks really good! I'd get the windows tinted, but to each their own. Also, you gotta love the power to weight ratio's of the Vettes! I bet you have alot of fun in that car!

hey bro...nice ride

I like the little grills on the front, I've been thinking about getting them for my car.

Favor?

Can you post up a better pic of the rear wheel on your car, I'd like to see how deep the dish looks. Do you like the look? You probably remember but I'm the one with the NOS blue vette. My car has a severe problem hooking up in first and second right now. It has 275's on the back with the factory chomes. I am thinking about adding the 10.5 replica rears with 315's. And what size tires you running back there?

Yep, I remember, 408 dual nitrous car?

here are the z06 screens, they will fit fine on your car.
Corvettes of Houston : Z06 style cold air screens. Quick install peel and stick design.

At your power level, you are going to have a hard time hooking up with whatever you throw at it. These cars are light to begin with.

I run a set of 305/35/18 mickey T drag radials on the back for the track. If you don't put a lot of miles on your car, and do not drive in the rain, those would work great for you. They are slightly taller than the standard tire though. It is amazing how soft the tire is when you press on it, even compared to the BFG and Nitto Drag radials. Guys are going 1.4 to 1.5 60ft's with them.

I'll try to get a better pic of the back wheels. They are standard c5z06 10.5 inch wheels. The really are not a deep dish wheel, but I don't think that are as flat as yours. I'll be back in a minute with some pics.

Should send it over to Hanz for the detail.

How is it since the wreck?

Looks great... Those are excellent numbers too. Glad to see you are still posting here...

On a side note, as much as I love my Mach, sometimes I wish I could trade it in on a C5 Z, in Yellow...

Little off topic. Since I have moved here I have been suprised how few V-8 F-bodies I see here. I started my job in Waco today and that city is LOADED with T/As and SS's and every single one has those wheels on it or same style but in gun metal. Popular ass wheel, like Cobras on GT's .
That being said I also only know of one Z06 and the only C5 I have near me yet I also saw 4 Z06's (C5) and two FRC coupes. It was nice to see all that power driving around town... except the 2000 SS I was behind with no mufflers, that was just annoying. I went to pass him cause it ws so loud and rich smelling. Little ass hat thought I wanted to race cause he gave it some gas which pissed me off so I nailed mine and his face was priceless as I jumped ahead of him. Of course he then showed me who was boss and flored his... fast SOBs them LSs are.

yes! Love those yellow Z', but your car is as clean as any. Seems like all the yellow vettes I see just look sick.

Oh, my little ordeal about going offroading? Nothing major, had a couple links in the suspension that I tore up, and had to replace a shock. All is well though. It didn't turn out too bad. It scraped up the panels on the passenger side, but it is not too noticeable. Say no to offroading in a sports car! The one thing I have learned, is that unlike a mustang, even one with much more power than what I was when I was stock 350-360rwhp, you have to be real careful about modulating the throttle. You just can't turn off the AH/TC, bring the revs up and punch it in 1st or second. If you do, you're going to lose control quick. Also, you can't slam second if the tires are spinning on the street. It was a dumb move on my part to disable all safety measures on the street. The lower gears in tranny in the z06 vs c5 also allow the tires to break lose with less effort.

BTW, do you have any pics of the old FRC?

No. I didnt have a digi camera at the time. It was just a 99 red stock FRC, nothing special.
It did light its tires around 90 mph in third when I power shifted and man it slid 90* fast! Fortunatly in comp mode it saved me. After it straightened out I coasted through the lights and still pulled a 14.8 in teh quarter. I did have to clean my shorts though.

It's amazing, you should see all the post from Fbody/mustang owners that went to a c5z06 from their much more powerful previous cars, only to total it within a month. It's almost a weekly/bi weekly post on different forums. It's not that they are crazy fast cars, they just get out from underneath you very, easy, as you have experienced.

Competitive Driving mode saved my azz at the track as well. All seemed good on street tires, ripped second and the next thing I knew, I was looking at the wall. The system helped correct it and I saved my car.

To me, cobras, stangs, corvettes, and z06's are normal. FRC's are not. Those are limited production vehicles, and IMO, have the best lines out of any corvette ever made(the frc z06 got the dumb badge and the gay scoops on the side). I was dead set on one, but I just couldn't find a pewter frc for the right price, and mileage. I still freak out whenever I see one on the street, and have to talk to whoever is driving it.

hey thanks for those pics. Those look great and I'm sure the style that I have to get to match the fronts would be the same dish. I've never liked wheels that have a real deep dish.

Keep us posted on what type of dyno numbers you get. What clutch you going with?

I am going with the crappy spec 3+ clutch, my car is going in this Wednesday the 21st for the install. I have not liked specs on my mustang in the past, but I didn't feel like spending 2k+ for a twin disk and install. I bit and decided against the Ram, Textrilla, ACT, LS7, Mcleod, Luk, etc. This was the only clutch that could handle drag launches and be somewhat budget friendly.

that's exactly what's in my car, and with a lightweight flywheel. I've read alot of good things about them on the vette forums. I was at first concerned this combo was causing my "bucking" under 2k in the first three gears. But after going to my tuner and having him dive into it and the tune......it was not to fault. Problem is the really large cam in my tuners estimation.

I tell ya, a DFX on it would impress you. My buddies 2000 FRC had one installed when he did his Procharger kit. After he put 700 or so miles he went out of town and left the car with me. The clutch feel was so much nicer and no chatter at all. Very smooth and it held his 465 rwhp just great!
