I just picked up my new 06 GT a few days ago and wish to get some work done. I am new to this scene, so was wondering if anyone knew of any shops in or near the city that you would recommend. I live in downtown Manhatten on Chambers St, so getting to Brooklyn or Queens is always an option.
I want to find a shop that can help me with my plans of adding a CAI (w/ tune, naturally), new wheels/tires, exhaust and hood. I plan on doing this over the next 6-9 months, with CAI and wheels coming first.

Oh, and also, I want to go with 19" rims, but fear that they can get damaged in potholes. is this a possibility?
