NEWB Possibly buying 03GT....coming from 99WS6

Don't get me wrong LS1's are beasts...I have had a 15 sec car down to a mid 11 sec car...so basically 200rwhp to 425rwhp. Like I said more is obviously more fun:D But my cars are daily drivers...and once I added power, It needed stuff that I think it wouldn't have needed if it were stock (or close to it)

So here I am today. I want a stock car and don't want another f-body...but still want a sports car. Vette is out of my range. Don't want a foxbody B/C I want something newer...Don't want a 94-98...so that lead me to 99-04's. They are in my price range, look sweet, have decent power. Seemed like the way to go.
Hell if the car is a mid-high 13 sec car, I'd be happy. But like I said the car is by no means a track car, so power isn't a huge factor. Smokin imports to 60 on the street from a light still will be fun though!:D

I guess the consensous here is that these cars...even with high mileage are fairly reliable. That's what I am hoping anyway

I believe you'll be happy with your choice then. The 99-04 is a great daily driver, I also have an 03 such as you are looking at and its a great car. You'll be able to smoke most imports from a light (there are a few actual tuner cars out there) and if you have a good sounding exhaust you'll get plenty of looks, the good kind. :nice:

I really like these cars.I think they are reliable.I had an 01 GT that I got with under 20k miles,at 65k miles it needed a clutch(TOB went),around 75k diode went bad in Altenator, and at 86k the motor mounts wore out and had 2nd and 3rd syncros go out.But I was happy with it,only reason I got rid of it was for the Mach 1 and wanted any color but black of which is what it was.The most expensive part for it was the tranny rebuild and that was only $400 total.I was a TA/Camaro guy once but I dont ever see myself going back, like these stangs too much...:D

Bought mine at 93k and now have 129k on it.

Broken part repairs: $0.

Only issue it would have had was a rear end rebuild (bearings only, R&P was perfect.) in the not-near future. Carrier bearings were halfway shot and making some noise, but most Stang owners change their rear end gears anyway, so thats what I did.

Matinence I have kept up on. Full fluid changes (minus coolant, allready done) to brakes I consider general matinence, as well as stuff like batteries.

I babied it when I first got it, but then I said F it, didnt buy this car to putt around in, lol. The modding started and the fun began. Runs like a champ still.
