Guys,

Im trying to install my UPR upper torque boxes but im a bit lost. How long of a drill bit do i need to drill through the floor board? I have taken the seats and the sound deadening material out already.

When i tried to drill through my floor, my drill bit was clearly too short. Also, are the upper torque boxes worth all the trouble? I hear more people talking about box'ing up the lowers.

The car will be mostly street, with one or two strip runs every now and then.

oh! Does anyone have a screen shot of their UPR torque boxes installed?

I have never reinforced any boxes on my cars. You don't have to buy the parts, you can just weld the stock ones as they sit. Unless yours are already ripped from slicks.

My boxes are in perfect condition. The car is bone stock and has been driven very lightly. I just dont hear about people putting torque boxes on the uppers too ofen.. and since im new to all this.. i'd much rather box'em back up and send them back then mess something up on the car.

I agree. Don't hack up your car. I would rather buy and own a car with stock torque boxes in good condition, than a car with some patch work or kit in it.

I have put over 100 passes on my 96 Cobra with Nitto Drags. 50 runs were in the 13's then the next 50 were all 12 second runs, my boxes are in perfect shape...even with heavy duty control arms, poly bushings, and subframes. I wouldn't worry about it one bit, unless you run 26 or 28 X 10.5" slicks and leaving the tree at 5,000 RPM.

Wow a 100 passes huh? How much power are you making?

My car will have the following:

408ci 351 W
3.73 Gears
2800 Stall
Reworked AOD

I im sure i'll make it to one of the last few strips here in CA, but not very often.
