Newbie intro and question

In the famous words from Dr.Nick, Hi everybody. Quick intro I live in Saint John, NB, Canada just bought a 87 gt and I have a question regarding the lumbar seats.

Problem is neither side will inflate, I checked the voltage going to the seats and they got power. I did a search on this site and on corral, but turned up empty handed.

Is there any common fixes (besides new seats), can someone please help the seats are out of the car now and I would like to deal with the problem. Thanx in advance.

Do you hear the motor going when you push the button or is it totally silent?
There aren't any "tricks" that i know of that can help you out. All i can suggest is if there is no noise when you push the button on both sides check the fuses, then if they all check out, look under the seat and find the wire that goes to the power lumbar. See if it is getting power, then go from there.
Since both sides aren't working it sounds like a fuse/wiring problem. But then again it could be that both seats are just broken! How many miles are on the car?

Thanks for the reply.
To answer your questions, when the lumbar controls (both)sides are pushed it is totally silent. The car has 120,000 miles or 200,000 kms. Its in relativly good shape except for the floors they need to be welded (this weekend).
Thanks for the suggestions I will put a trace on the wires. When I took the volt reading I only got a 4.30 volts but my glove box was open all night with light on.

I went ahead and and started testing things everything checks out ok no shorts. By the way its very easy to remove the air pump just remove the slider, pull plastic tab that holds down seat cover, remove two screws, disconect air line and wire harness and that it..
