Years ago I had an 85 mustang coupe. It had a older 302 with mods.It was carburerated. It run a best 1/8th mile time of an 8.19.I never sprayed that car.
I'm a drag racer at heart.

I just recently bought a 91 mustang LX coupe. It has the 5.0 with an AOD.
I will be keeping this car injected.
Only mod on it was a complete flowmaster exhaust.I bought a used alfaotto cold air kit for $20.I'm going to have to make a bracket for it.For right now,I just removed the airbox and placed on the clamp-on filter.

Things I want:
-going to pick up my draglites today
-BBK shorty headers
-3.73 gears
-subframe connectors
-driveshaft safety loop
-I bought a comp cam(similar to an E-cam).
I'll install that later on when I go into the motor.

-Is the comp.cams polymer intake worth the money? Will I need larger injectors,etc...?

I had a friend looking over the car the other day and noticed that the fan is cracked in alot of places. It concerns me that it could just come apart.
Can they really do that, and can I just replace it with a flex fan?

I've also heard that taking off the front sway bar helps when racing, but I've also heard it makes almost no difference.

I'm new to the fuel injected motors.Any suggestions, advice,or companies you really like will be greatly appreciated.
Keep in mind. This is my daily driver.

That's pretty quick- That's also what I'm shooting for when I do my HCI soon :nice:

20lbs and makes you car handle like ****

It depends on where you want to start and how much you want to spend. I'd go with a good fitting fenderwell cold air intake instead. I picked up an aluminum driveshaft for my '86GT for $200 and that was money very well spent. As far as your fan goes, I went electric and freed up a noticeable amount of power but at the same time I also disconnected the power steering and went manual rack, disconnected the smog and A/C, too. It's hard to say where to start, there are a lot of good little things under $300. Subframe connectors and my strut tower brace also made a huge difference, grand total there of about 300. As far as intakes go, I'm sure you will hear a ton of people here recommend you go with the Holley Systemax. Welcome back to the 'Stang game!
