Ok I know this is the most retarded question to ask and Ill probably get flamed for it but just out of curosity since I cant find any specs on it...what is the top speed for a 95 GTS? What is the 1/4 times stock? What are the ring and pinion gears for these with aode? Did all GT(s) have posi/limited slip diffs?
I like my stang a lot but it doesnt seem fast..Im assuming its a 15 second car in stock trim? I know my last car ran mid 14's and felt a lot fast(crx b16a swap) I know theres a ton of potential for the 5.0 HO which is why I got the stang and I needed a v8rwd car again

Top speed: I dont know, I got mine to ~155.

1/4 Mile: a mid 15 I think, but thats a bad rating, I got my pretty much stock gt to a 14.5.

Most come with 2.73 gears, but some AODE came with 3.08. There should be a tag on your diff cover. Get some 4.10's

Yes they have limited slip.

That should help.

Or, it could have come with 3.27's, as well. Check the diff tag.

155 stock...no way. Your speedo and tach have gotta be off. I've heard of them doing 145 with a taped up front end...but realistically you will prolly see 130-140 depending on weather that day and you altitude above sea level, etc, etc. The quarter should come in the mid to low 15's somewhere and in the low 90's for trap speed. Threre are exceptions but this seems to be the norm.

5 speeds came with 2.73s or 3.08s, like was said above check your differential cover.

Slush boxes came with 3.27s.

A stock stick coupe would net high 14s, a slushbox is in the mid 15 second range. Verts are even worse.

Yes, you do indeed have positraction.

There was a thread a while back with a few pics of people speedos pegged out, I believe a few of them had basically stock cars.

And im pretty sure any stock speedo is off around 150.

Computer speed limits it at 149mph, Like said above check diff tag for gears, realistically your looking at a 15 + car with the auto. And the Gt's Gts's and cobras came with the limited slip.
On a dyno without the speed limiter, it will go over the 150 mark, but when you add in temp, wind resistance, gear ratio, and outside forces it will not see 155 on a stock car. Now modify it and that number will go up.
