First of all hey to all you out there on this forum. Been reading quite a bit here and you guys have it going. I'm going to toss this out and maybe get some advise/answers. I recently purchased a 2000 stang that was advertised as a Bullitt. I know they were not produced in that year, but with the price I paid the car was woth it. It had been side swiped on the qtr at the side scoops and the owner said the clutch was out and it all was too expensive to fix. He told me the clutch had to be pumped up to work (thinking it was Hyd) figured he didn't know much about the car so I offered 2500 for the car and got it home andjusted the clutch and ran like dream. Its in the shop getting the qtrs replaced and painted. I looked up the vin number and noticed it didn't jive with the car. It has all the Bullitt features that I have been able to figure it should have except for the seat material. Anybody got a clue on what could have been changed. Talked to a few around here and was told it would have been very expensive to swap all the bullitt items to a v6 car. And yes it does have a good and clean title. Feel free to give me any scenarios on this. Thanks

Post some pictures of the car's exterior, front suspension (car will sit lower than your average GT), and it also has features like no wing, no fogs, larger cobra brakes and especially a higher flow intake manifold, in addition to the specific side scoops, rocker panels and interior features. Sounds like you got a deal if this was a swapped v6 to Bullitt clone!

Has just about all Bullitt stuff that I can think of, the side skirts, fog light delete, red calipers with pony, brushed aluminum gas door, the side scoops were scrapped off in the side swipe, bullitt door sills, dash with tall skinny numbers, shifter ball and trim around shifter boot, tonika shocks, it does have the long swooping intake, but it does have a gt wing from a 01-04. Also it has an AJE Racing tubular front K-member. What model tranny would you think this has, the t45 or 3650

If it's an authentic Bullitt, it would have a sticker in the engine bay on the shock tower giving the Production Number.

It wouldn't be all that expensive to put Bullitt parts on another Mustang. Though the "most difficult" part to swap on the body would be the C-pillar/quarter window panels. A stock V6/GT has the backs of the quarter windows "rounded" and the Bullitts are kind of "cut off." Hard to describe, but if you just google 2001 Bullitt and look at the quarter windows and compare it to a 2001 GT, you'll see what I mean.

Also, IIRC, the Bullitt had the 3650 transmission in it. This didn't make it into the GT until 2003 I believe. I could be a bit off on that though.

The T3650 starting being put into 2001 model year vehicles. If this vehicle has the T45/Quarter Scoops/Sail Panels like mentioned above it more than likely was swapped. The plaque would be the teller. But if it is a 2000 GT like said through carfax, it is just a swapped vehicle.

I believe the AJE K member is the tell all since it has had some work done to have a swap like that. And that fact that someone drilled into the decklid (or simply didnt remove the stock wing/and/or added a 01-04 4 post wing) prove your point that this was a swapped one.

Post some pictures when you get a chance, sounds like you got a deal!

Thats one of the answers I was looking for, that the bullitt drive line did come with the 3650 tranny. I figured when I saw the k-member that it was a swap job. But at least they did a good job swapping all those parts and making a good atemp at making a bullitt clone. I think they just put on a gt deck lid. It is in the paint and body shop right now so I'll have to post some pics later. I am removing all the badging on the exterior and possibly doing a two tone of the silver bottom and a little darker from the side body lines up with a different shade of gray/silver between. Some what like the platinum edition ford truck. Still have the cowl hood, staggard Cobra wheel set up and springs to install. Next will be a different exhaust system on it and finish the extra 8.8 rear I have for it with 373's. Thanks for all the info guys, I knew i'd find it on here.
