I don't know if a Bullit Mustang comes with Sub-frame connectors or not, but if not I would pitch in some money, and get a set. Sub-frame connectors are a MUST for anyone who intends to race their car at all or drive it hard....trust me, I know. I'm also talking about the weld-in kind of sub-frames, and not bolt-in kind.

If you wish to run 12's n/a, then you don't need much. The bullit is pretty fast out of the box. You've already stated you have an o/r x pipe matched to a loud mouth catback, so thats a good start.

I would say the following mods should get you into the 12's:

Intake
Gears
ECU Programming
Drag Radials/Slicks
Maybe an aftermarket shifter
Practice.....practice.....practice.

What kind of times are you running now ? I know a guy who had a bone stock Bullit GT, and he was pulling low 13's.

He doesn't "need" long tubes or any other headers. Headers are VERY expensive for our cars, especially if you don't know how to install them yourself. The Labor alone would be more than the headers. He doesn't need cams, or any other internal motor work either. I've seen plenty of GT's go 12's without headers or internal motor work. I believe Bill Putnam ran a best of 12.4X with the stock headers and stock internal motor.

why are you quoting "need", i never said need. But w/ those mods 12's are sure fire. Your dont "need" any of that if you run nitrous or slap on a supercharger
Plus i didnt see it was a Bullit. Im sure plenty of people have gotten into the 12's w/ nothing more than some exhaust and gears w/ slicks, but i dont know his driving skill, the condition or altitude of the track he'll be at, or how he wants to spend his money. Either way cams and LT's arn't a waste of money if you are mechanically inclined

I agree with CobraRed, LT headers, cams, gears, and sticky tires would make for a solid 12 second car.(With a little room for driver error)

I'm sorry I put the word "need" in quotation marks. I probably should of put it in italics instead. I'm simply trying to say its not necessary to have long tubes or cams to run 12's n/a. I wasn't trying to jump on your back either, so all is good.

4.6 stang, you might want to also check out the forums at Modular Depot. Most of the fastest running n/a GT's and Bullits can be found on that site, along with a lot of good tech articles and info.

Lt's arn't all that spendy if you have a couple jacks some wrenches and a crap ton of patience. You could always shave a couple hundred pounds off the car too.

I run at Moroso Motorsports park here in South Florida, the track cant be too much higher than sea level. But anyway I think I am going to go with a tune from sct, some slicks, 4:10s, better subframe connectors, a mgw shifter, and a c l intake. with these mods and driving skill I hope to be in th 12s. With a 100shot and a upr k member plus upr's upper and lower control arms do you think I could be in the 11s?

First, let me throw a word of caution to you about running nitrous. Nitrous can be very dangerous for your motor if you don't know what you're doing, and if you don't get everything hooked up correctly and tuned right. I definately would not run beyond a 100 shot (wet) or a 125 dry shot on a stock botton end 4.6 motor. If you plan on running more than this, or racing this thing with nitrous on a regular basis, then I would start planning on rebuilding the lower end of the motor with forged internals.

Now, as for how fast will you be.....it all varies. I would say another 100 hp can shave close to a full second off your 1/4 mile time as long as you have proper traction. If you do all the mods you have listed, then yes, 11's are a serious possibility.

Throw on an ATI Procharger and call it done!!! Easily in the 12's with one upgrade.

Go superchager or turbo, though do a centrifugal if you go s/c to take advantage of that bullitt intake. it will run 12's all day

Why does the car being a bullit have anything to do with it? I thought they only came with a measly five more horses than stock gts.

power potential, the intake manifold is a lot better. Especially when being blown or under nitrous

He would run out of gear before the end of the track with 4.30's im pretty sure. Those are good 1/8th mile gears.

Just dont mess with the little stuff like a throttle body or plenum, "chips", cold air intakes and stuff. Go with the proven stuff.

Open the exahaust up (you allready did), gears, a GOOD set of sticky tires (drag radials), and dooooont overlook suspension. Control arms and a set of adjustable struts/shocks can go a long way if set up right, and a real tune.

The key is knowing how to drive the hell out of you car, and how to put all the power you have down efficiently.
