hey guys, im new to the site, its great to see other people that love their mustangs as much as i do. I have an 89 GT, had a 94 GT AOD before this and a ford truck with a 460ci...so far i have 3.73 gears, magnaflow cat-back exhaust, bbk cold air intake, and other non-performance mods. i've been pocketing my cash for a little while and now want to buy some parts. i've thought about a supercharger, cam, intake manifold and all that stuff. i have about 2 grand to spend. what do u all think? thanks

I would go natural first,,get a good set of heads, and a good cam!!and a intake. You will love the performance. If you still want more try a SC,,or a squirt of nitro

Supercharger, cheapest way to get power. If you wanted the same performance out of h/c/i, you would need to spend more than 2k. Pick up an sc-trim or a used s-trim and you should be good to go.

Naw I'd do it in steps first. Depending on your mileage you could be putting your motor at risk by just slapping on a SC. Finish your exhaust (Headers, OR h or x pipe) Throw on a larger TB, Upper/lower intake, heads, then start working on internals liker roller rockers, porting that sort of thing.

car has 104k miles and runs like a champ. no vibrations, thumps, leaks, burning or anything. that was always my concern--that a supercharger would harm an engine with that many miles. i plan on running a compression test later this week to see that im putting up good numbers. at the moment, i am considering buy a cam/intake manifold, timing chain, short throw shifter. other option would be maybe heads/cam. what would i see more performance out of??? thanks for the feedback so far!

I would still go supercharger, sounds like your motor is in good shape. Just get a dyno tune so you can make sure that your A/F ratio is good and don't run more than 8psi and you should be good to go.

S/C is definately the best bang for your buck.

Or get the normal H/C/I.

H/C/I,,,if you get a sc,,you will need bigger injecttors,,FP,,,TB,,,ign. system,,youll have to move your battery for the inter cooler,,ahhh!! head,cam,,125 shot of ZEX

Try nitrous oxide...you've got a lot to learn Mr. 2 fast and 2 furious

I agree with in intrcptrstng...if you have access to a dyno tuner somewhere around the supercharge will be a much better bang for the buck...but the tuneable problem in my area swayed me to do the h/c/i because I knew I could "home tune" it safely...

Lol...if you get h/c/i you will need bigger injectors/FP/TB/and the optional ignition system (as is for the supercharger)...and if you get a s/c or S trim you don't need a intercooler...so you don't have to worry about it...the heads, cam, and nitrous will be a less reliable way for transportation...a lot of things could go wrong pushing that kind of power...not a forgiving setup if something isn't right...the supercharger will be 2x cheaper minimum if you do everything right on both sides...

If you get the s-trim kit, it comes with the ignition and the inline fuel pump. You dont have to get injectors, you can use the FMU, though injectors would be better. You dont need a TB to make it work, it just increases power as would better intake or set of heads. Also, you dont have to move the battery(eventhough its fairly cheap and apparently easy) becauseyou dont need the aftercooler, though i hear its quite nice and i'll tell you for sure in the spring.

If you get an S trim (8 psi on stock setup)...he is going to need injectors if he wants it to be any kind of reliable in the upper rpms (dangerously lean) the injector pulse/delivery will not be able to keep up...now if it was the old A trim (now the s/c trim) he MIGHT could get by safely...most people ditch the FMU...but you need h/c/i with some 42 or bigger fuel injectors before most do that...

When I put this above...I was referring to willys1 post about how he was saying you will need this and that...in reality you don't need them...but it is just like the supercharger...you will need them to run safely and more efficiently...he was trying to be one sided and I pretty much got rid of that...he is a bit bias because he is doing the h/c route himself...so I was evening up the playing field...
