Next performance mod

I know, I know, this question gets asked so many times and the search option doesnt really help. Ok, so I would like to spend between 250 and 750 on my next mod, I want it to be an engine mod of some kind. I have a 99 auto that has just over 72,000 miles that is my daily driver. It also must be drivable in the winter as it is my only form of transprotation. I have all the visul stuff pretty much done to where I want. UD pulleys will be put on, but onther than that, I have only done CAI, and exhaust as far as performance goes. Heads, cam, intake, what should be next? keep in mind this will be my last mod for a while, prolly till summer again or just about then. Any other info needed, just ask, and thanks ahead of time for all replies.

you can get a sport chip which will run you around 230-300 depending on which one you get; you can get headers for about 150-180. So you could get both of those for around 480 max (prob cheaper) and get them installed for about 60 bucks or so. Not bad. You'll notice a difference with the chip. I did.

^No. You won't.
Get a t-lok and gears. Then you'll notice a difference. Plus you'll have both wheels spinnin' so you'll be better of in rain/snow. Part should come about $400 and the labor should take care of the $350.

yea the t-lok and gears will make a LOT bigger difference, i got them also.

Would it even be worth it to get just t-lock. I've heard alot about just getting both because rear-end work is exspensive, but this is my daily driver and it does get on the highway alot, so i dont know if gears would be a good idea, right now.

dont waste your money on those things!!
remember that v6's dont respond good to mods, just stop wasting your money and get a nitrous wet kit and call it a day.
the only mod youll need.

just spray a 50-90 shoot and you will be a killing sleeper.
to get that same amount of HP that Nitrous makes on mods you will have to spend some seriuos money.

You have somewhat of a point. However, you're on a forum that mainly talks about improving someone's car, no matter what car that is (4,6,or 8).
On a realistic note, every "mod" is a waste of money on any car (assuming the car runs with no problems), no matter how the car responds to it.
But like I said, people like to make their stuff better, no matter if its economical or not. My critic only goes to the part in which you indirectly state "Don't mod a V6", not the nitrous thing.

Well i really never said that, and Im just trying to save cruisev6 some money on pretty much worthless mods.
except those heads and cams he was talking about, that would cost alot more than 750 bucks

you tell me how can i get 50-100 HP with $750 or less
you know the answer

Go with T-lok and gears, the t-lok will help a ton out in the winter (I know!). You'll need an install kit as well. Installation of the stuff shouldn't cost more than $250. The key is to look for a shop that does tons of gear and rear end work. They have their crap wired tight, do it twenty times a day, and therefore can charge you less as they do the work in half the time that an otherwise normal shop would charge.

I initially was looking at prices from $450 to $550. One guy told me he couldn't do it, as he didn't have a bell-housing stretcher. WTF!!!! Ummm... next shop. I finally happened across a shop that does nothing but this type of work, so if I were you, I'd look around for some professionals.

a supercharger really helps in the rain and snow too.

If you're strapped for cash, get the rear end upgraded now....insurance for later on

well if you want a motor mod you are out of options unless you want cai, exhaust, or a udp the only thing left thats is in your price range is ported upper and lower intakes.... these are really good and should pick you up 10-15rwhp and tq i would guestimate more along the lines of 10rwhp and tq~ install is not to bad.... just KEEP TRACK OF THE VACUME LINES where they came off and go back lol along with tq specs and all that get a pro to help you or do it all if you are unsure many have screwed up their motor by simply not going by the book.

rgrcfm1@yahoo.com email him and tell him brandon (spectorv) sent you to get some info on ported intakes for your car he is really good but a little on the slow side when it comes to getting you your stuff so have some time to wait before you do the install.

if you dont have exhaust get a cat back set up for your car with true dual, buy a gt take off and have a shop fab it up with flanges so you can remove the cat back if you can have them to this, its the bets wy to go about it.
