Does anyone know which screw hole to use for the brass piece of metal that sits on the upper firewall and touches the hood for grounding? I have 2 holes on the firewall. One is lower and more to the passenger side fender and the other is approximatey two inches from that one and more to the center of the car and higher to the hood. Does anyone have any pics of their car of this or can tell me which hole to use? it kinda looks like this (without the lines):

I checked my 78 Mach and the ground strap screw is also mounted in the lower outside hole.

hi, can you please check one more thing for me...do you have a ground wire attached by a screw directly next to that copper piece? if so, can you tell me where it goes? please?

Just checked the Mach and the coupe. There's no ground wire connected to the screw on the right side of the ground strap screw. Just the screws. :nonono: Possibly may be used to ground your dash components if there's a wire running from the cabin of your cobra.

OOO, thanks for checking, I hope your right because mine just had the screw also...didn't know what the heck that was for until this morning when i seen a pic of a thin black wire attached to somebody else's firewall.

between this wire being on some cars and that big rubber plug that goes under the master cylinder on only some cars....this is really becoming a pain. :bang: :nonono:

I don't have the rubber plug under the master cyl. on any of my II's. What gives? Must be for certain years or style. I never checked for that at any yards. Guess I'll start looking for that plug so I can put one on the coupe.
