You have no idea. Last time I tried to hit the magic 172 limit, she got loose on me and I thought for a split second it was game over. Havent done it since. That day really put things like my kids relying on me in perspective.

For the record, not another soul was in the area. I am not that crazy.

Yeah I ran an old car of mine (00 Camaro SS) up to 140+ once on a back road. I then thought the same thing you did. Haven't done it again. Track only for me from now on. Way too many variables on a highway/road etc

Its not the speed that scared me. When I left off the gas the weight of the car shifted forward and the back end came loose a bit. I am pretty sure if I didnt have as good of tires as I do, that it would have started fish tailing and resulted in my demise. Never even touched the brakes. I removed the rear spoiler for a better view out the back, and maybe at those speeds it really woukd have helped keep the rear end planted more.

I will never try to take the fox to 172 mph, no matter how much power it has. The SRT is much more planted than my fox ever will be. The new found power in the fox will be used for burnouts, donuts, passing on the interstate, and sexy sound.

I get nervous taking my Fox past 70mph these days. I just like doing quick rips from 10-60mph and that's when I let off.

When I was younger, I took it past 100 quite a few times. Now, new cars are just so much more stable. I took my Taurus to 120mph and it felt no different than doing 45 mph down the road. Total confidence at that speed.

I am sure if one were to put a MM catalog of parts under their fox, then it would also feel planted when flying. But dis homie aint playin that. Cant afford to, at least not until September when @madmike1157 sends me the money to do it to meet his prediction.

As the guy that constantly goaded and applauded your Burnout/doughnut videos in the ranger and the newer mustang. I am disappointed that you would think I believed the fox would be doing anything other than burnouts and mobbing down the block

Going over 160mph was done in my previous mustang. Never again !!!

One of the metal pieces that sit beside the windshield flew off. One of my pointy trim extensions by the mirror flew off. The top was taped down with gorilla tape at the top of the windshield. The car was incredibly unstable. After about 140 it felt like it was about to take flight.

I had a video of it but it's long gone...but I do have a witness. My buddy was screaming like a girl from 120 on up.

I've been ~150ish in a modified 351 notchback. Closed course of course. I was only 20 at the time, so I thought everything was cool.

Nowadays, the thought of doing that again sends shivers down my spine. Whatever cars my kids end up driving, I'm gonna hack them to have a 75MPH speed limiter.

Question for you guys. I painted the water pump and timing cover a charcoal gray, and just yesterday decided to paint the block to match. Next up is valve covers. I bought some silver paint to closely match the powder coated intake. I am now second guessing whether I should paint the VCs to "match" the intake, or if I should paint them dark gray to allow the intake to pop? What do you guys think? Sorry, I suck and didnt take a pic of the block color. I think I have a pic of the engine a page or two back where you can see the water pump color though.

Hey boys, help a noob out here. I am setting preload on my RR's. I have done factory style on GT40P's, but never stud mount on a set of aluminum heads. Per Woody's paperwork, he set them to a half turn past zero lash, so that is what I set out to duplicate. The first several go fine, but then I come to one where I find zero lash and when I give it the extra half turn, there is little to no resistance. I have been taking my sweet time to allow the lifters to pump up... Does this indicate a bad (collasped) lifter?

Alright, I did some more Googling, and came across a suggestion on another site to prime the oil system some more. I had already primed it woth fresh oil and filter to try to be sure I had it cleaned out decently. I backed off the offending rockers, re primed the system with my drill, and boom. They all had the same tension when completing the half turn past zero lash. Glad this old newbie had a smart phone to utilize. I am now confident in how all 16 feel. On with the valave covers!

Well I am prepping and painting little parts today as I slowly get this thing together. Im a little disappointed yet not disappointed that I cant find my 65 MM Explorer throttle body anywhere. I have searched the garage 10 times. Dont want to drop the coin on an Accufab right now, so Im not sure what the current plan is now.
