I think you will be fine there if you buy anything name brand, new. My stuff is all used, so theres no telling what all has been changed prior to me changing it again. Anyone have first hand experience with a good high temp paint? My MAC mufflers have a silver paint on them that seems very durable, and is definitely not original. I'd like to paint all my welds, if not coat the entire exhaust.

I came to the conclusion yesterday that its time to buckle down, remove the rear axle, clean and POR15 the undercarriage before finishing this exhaust. I was just going to temporarily install it and enjoy the car for a bit, but trying the clamp the tail pipes just allows for leaks and is janky anyway. I'll go get my $25 back for the clamps, and just weld the pipes in place after that portion of the car is done. So what I just did was order new upper control arms, a braided body to axle brake line, and a new transmission tailshaft seal (since I'll have the driveshaft off). Ive had lower control arms laying around for a while now, waiting to go on the car. I'll dive in this weekend. No looking forward to getting caked in junk, but it needs to be done.
The car was 100% original with 122k when I bought it. Even though it could barely do a burnout, both tires spin. I dont have the funds for that at the moment. My priority is to finish the POR15 on the undercarriage, POR15 the axle housing, get fresh control arms in, and finish the exhaust. Im out of money to spend on the car for a while.
My current shocks are rusty as hell, but even those are going to wait due to funds. Since I wont be racing the car, Im ok with the caddilac ride it currently has, lol.
Wife and three kids zap up most of our funds. If the wife had her way the car would be gone. She thinks its just a big waste of time and money. Always a fun game trying to progress the restoration.
House is what zaps up most of my funds and time. I gotta get a deck built out back (contracting this out), redo the front steps, and finish redoing our living room. Wife also wants a garden so i'm doing a little landscaping this weekend. That's why I pretty much just take the car out for a coffee in the AM and then park it and start my list.

That is what I try to remember as well. If my car were as nice and complete as yours, maybe my wife wouldnt hate it as much, lol.
On this subject, she just text me and said I can have tonight and all day Sunday to work on it so long as I go get donuts for the kids tomorrow morning and spend the day doing family things. I told her that sounds like a good deal to me. Hopefully tonight I will have the axle out, stripped down and possibly in POR15. That will allow me to focus on the floor of the car on Sunday.

It’s a time/ money thing. The women that have a problem with it will eventually get over the time you spend on the car, as long as the time you spend with her is commensurate, and the money you spend is disposable.
It’s the primary reason why I no longer drag race.
It ate up too much of both.
I have many friends that are now single as a result of their decision to leave the woman they married at home on a Saturday night in exchange for hangin’ at the track, and keeping needed household repairs/amenities/luxuries waiting on a back burner.
I used to be that guy.
It really wasn’t too hard a choice.
As time went by, and I decided to stay into cars, it has dwindled down to the time I have to myself, and the money that I make that is above and beyond what we need for bills...having two incomes has always been the only way I could pull that off.
