hey i actually have quite a question. i need help from people that have the system not "experts" on it. in the next three months, i am going to be getting a nitrous kit w/ a 100 shot, purge kit, bottle heater and the little arming controls in your cup holder from american muscle. what my question is, what kit are you running i dont know whether i should do a plate kit or not. plus, i live right down the road from modular power house so i am thinking i should get them to tune it. i might actually get them to install it. i have like 1k to spend. what do you thinnk i should get for 1k to get the most out of my money?

With a $1000 budget you should be able to get the kit along with all (or atleast most of) the goodies.
The NX kit seems to be a popular kit that most end up getting since it's a quality kit and they rate their power to the wheels, rather than the flywheel.
I personally pieced my kit together for around $300 with a bottle warmer/msd digital window switch, purge and 2 10lb bottles.

I don't have a kit but I would recommend the NX wet plate system. Your torque numbers will be impressive compared to other kits
do you suggest one?

If you don't want to break something, you need a dyno tune for sure, as well as all the other safety stuff. What hurts an engine on nitrous is usually the initial spray, that's why you'll see a large torque jump right when it's sprayed. I would suggest a "time based progressive nitrous controller" so you can adjust how much your solenoids flow.

ive got the nx plate system and its awesome. I have run my 150 shot and selected the 150 shot tune on my sniper tuner and it runs very strong. its a great system. install is very straight forward. i liked it because i did not have to drill into my intake. i got jets all the way up to a 300 shot lol wont be using that for some time until the motor is fully built with a progressive controller.
the 100 shot added about 8mph to my traps in teh 1/8th mile. my times only dropped .2 though because i had bald street tires lol and over 100ftlbs of instant torque didnt help lol.

You'll want a wet kit for the best performance (ie torque).
NX is what I was going to buy before I found my NOS Noszle kit on EBay for $400 (typically goes for over $1000 new)
You'll want a window switch, a Fuel Pressure Safety Switch (Hobbs), and a Wideband would be a good idea as well.
You'll also want a heater to get the pressure up (NX makes a good one), a purge setup, and a nice-to-have would be a remote bottle opener.
I installed my own, including the Wideband, gauges (AFR and FP), and the nitrous kit (with window switch, electronic WOT switch, all the plumbing, etc). This way, if something goes wrong, I know how it all works and how it's all wired and plumbed. Plus, I can do a much cleaner install myself by taking my time and carefully hide all the wiring. Note my pics below - even with the Plasma Booster in the mix, you still hardly see ANY loose wires. If you have basic mechanical skills and can follow directions, you'll have no problem installing this stuff yourself...no special tools required.

Clean install and that c&l inlet pipe looks huge 
My install could be much more "hidden" though I was pretty anxious during the install so just mouted the solenoid there for the time being. Haven't been bothered enough to go and relocate it yet
