Nitrous or Supercharger?

I'm sure this must be the age-old question. But this summer i am doing a PI head swap, and decided that i will forge the engine while i'm at it. So not this summer but NEXT summers project will be NOS or a Supercharger (if i have the money)...

*SEE SIG FOR MY CAR*

So. My question is what do you guys prefer NOS or Boost? I am leaning towards the NOS because i think it would be easier on the engine, and i would only use it while at the tracks (which i haven't gone to yet, but plan on doing over the next few summers frequently). So when i wasn't running boost, i still wanted a fast N/A car. The supercharger would of course give me a fast car all the time, but i figured it be safer on my car to go NOS, since my car IS my *daily driver*. As for what shot of NOS would i use if i went that road? I dont know...a lot probably :D 150 maybe, more? Just want some feed back.

Also, WET or DRY NOS and why? (that question for all you nos guys)
Thanks! :nice:

You answered your own question get the NOS becuase you can use it exclusively aat the track instead of running high horsepower all the time. But if you are building your bottom end then high horespower wont make a difference to a stronger engine.

I would also recommend the NX efi wet kit.

Ok for one if you get a super charger it will only make boost a W.O.T. You can drive all day long and never see any boost at all. So it not on all the time just when you hit on it hard.

How much is it for the NX wet kit? And about how much to set-up/install it? You guys have any good sites?

There used to be guy around here who sold them day in and day out. I think his name is cyclical (not sure though). Here is his website. www.mustang-x.com.

I got all my NX stuff from him. Also, no point in "starting out" with a 75 shot just to "get used to nitrous". Just go with a 100 shot, you'll enjoy it! :D Make sure you get all the safety features you can buy to reduce the risks of doing harm to your engine. If you need help, I can e-mail you pictures of my setup including where I hide all my switches. Good luck.

It's under 1K for the kit at steeda.com but, extra for the saftey goodies!
Also I installed/reinstalled my own kit with all the saftey goods and
it took me five to six hours to install it right the first time.I got nothing
but, great results with Nitrous Express and I highly recommed it! :nice:

is Nitrous illegal or super danergous if you get into a accident? Say someone bangs the rear end that houses your bottle?
Greg

nitrous is illegal for street use. and the bottle is under extreme pressure when filled, so it is possible for it to make a bad situation worse. i remember someone on here 2 years ago who had his nitrous bottle valve burst in his car while it was parked in the sun.

i can't remember exactley what kind of damage it did, but it think it blew out a window. it wasn't as bad as this guy though. http://www.saturnspeed.com/nitrousexplosion.htm

if you heat a bottle that is under pressure and it gets too hot, it's going to explode. in the case of the mustang, the sun heated the bottle at the valve, causing the valve to burst.
