Ok guys, I have a 87' GT with underdrive pullies, A/C eliminator kit, MAC cold air intake, 3.73 Gears, Trac. Lock Rebuild, Trickflow Differential Cover and Mickey Thompson 255/50/16 tires. I bought a NOS Plate Nitrous Kit adjustable from 150-300 hp and I'm wondering what your guys's inputs would be. I plan on buying a Walboro 255 pump and subframe connectors, colder spark plugs, and retard the timing along with a purge kit. I know it's speed density but can I do this without converting the mass air, and adding bigger injectors by upping the fuel pressure? Also, what kind of times would you be expecting from a car with this stuff? It's a 5 speed. I plan on doing a compression test as well.. what should I expect as a good number? My car has 90,000 miles and it doesn't burn any oil, and it seems to run strong. I'd like feedback. thanks

No i mean can i do this using the stock 19 pounders by upping the fuel pressure

i'm not really sure what difference the SD would have as opposed to the mass air, you're spraying after the meter anyway, at least i do.

i wouldn't run over 150hp, and if i were you i would start it around 75hp jets.
as far as cooler plugs & shorter gap, and retarding timing, everything should be fine.
and you could run as fast as high 11s (with good 60' times and 150shot) or as slow as 14s.
i'm guessing with a bit of practice 12s should be easy.

EDIT: is this a wet kit or dry?, sorry i've been out of the game for a bit.

its a wet kit that fits between the upper and lower intake has 2 fuel jets and 2 nitrous jets its just like a 1/2 inch spacer i was wondering if the 19 pounders would lean out the engine or not and i can put in bigger injectors with the speed density

I would highly recommend new injectors, but if your on a low budget......IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT!

If you do spray your not gonna run lower than 11.9 thats for 100%. Depending on how many passes you have ran, i'd say a good runner will get 11.9 at best with what your planning to work with.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting new fuel system that has patterned to aim straight for the intake valve, thus creating no nitrous rebound into intake plenum which can cause cylinder damage and your engine will live happily ever after.

And dont take my word for 11.9, i could be off.

Do exaclty what you were palnning on doing.Install the kit,as per instrucktions,get the bigger pump.You dont need larger injectors because its a wet kit and will inject its own fuel via a solinoid.I would get the Autolite racing plugs in 1 or 2 step colder and retard the timing to 8* int.

Oh,if the 150 shot is as low as it goes,use that.

If everything is set-up right it will be just fine.

Have fun once you get it working.

Would an MSD ignition box really help me that much. Would anyone reccommend using one.

Depending on the plug gap the stock ignition spark might blow out...thats where the MSD is supposedly supposed to help.

Nitrous is a oxidizer, which carries more oxygen to the engine, which allows FASTER burning of the fuel.

To lean of a mixture can cause detonation and New Orleans style disaster.

Like venom said, if everything is setup right youll be fine, and with stock injectors w/ 90,000 miles, 150shot is asking a little too much.

I would highly recommend a fuel pressure safety switch, even if you do decide to change your fuel lines.

And of course, don't ever use less than premium pump fuel.

I wouldn't spray a 150 shot on a stock 5.0 with a stock fuel system. 125 is considered the safe limit.

The injectors don't matter as much here, as you are dealing with a wet kit. You will absolutely NEED a 190lph or bigger fuel pump and an adjustable, aftermarket regulator would be beneficial as well.

I spray a 150 on my stock fuel system with no problems. Ran 11.9 with it, although I am using 24# injectors.
