Been contemplating where to mount the switches for my nitrous kit and remembered the little blank panel in the center console behind the parking brake. So, I ran to Radio Shack and bought a few buttons. Arm/Disarm, Purge Push Button and 2 switches for Bottle Warmer and Remote Bottle Opener.

I have some cleanup to do and my measurements were pretty much "non-existant" so it could definitely be a cleaner fit next time around.

Once it's in the car and setup, I'll post more pics.

why the delay in posting this here? it was on SFS Today, 11:56 AM

panel looks good. does it still fit in the hole pretty good? with the mounting nuts and wires, looks like a tight fit.

I ran into the garage to check inside the armrest and never noticed this panel. I had more or less decided to use the Speed of Sound panel:

but hated the idea of losing my cup holders. You've inspired me to develop my own switches, which I'll put on the plastic console NEXT to the cupholder. I'll have to check around and see if anyone can engrave and paint text under each button though.

Great idea man, and thanks again for the inspiration.

John

Yeah losing the cupholders sucks, especially since there is NOWHERE to put anything else. I use the small holder for my cellphone and other stuff.

Open your center console. Look to the left of the coin holders. The panel is directly behind the e-brake.

It's unfortunately a little awkward if I want to use them at the spur of the moment (like where I really shouldn't be using it in the first place) but if it's @ the track and during staging it's just fine I think.

If I didn't have the buttons for the info center, I'd pop out the dead buttons above the radio and mount a custom panel there.

I found it awkward having to reach into the console an moved mine to an sos pod similar to the one posted above. rather than delete the whole cupholder I deleted ony one. I too like the small one for cell phone storage.

Here's a shot..

Problem is, I actually use the big cupholder. Nothing else will fit my 32oz. Mountain Dew

the console will do for now until I take the time to come up with something else.
