Nitrous Tank Blew!!!!!

I just filled my nitrous tank, 10lb bottle and they only filled it with 9 1/2 lbs. Its 68 degrees with high humidity and the tank was filled about 3 hours ago.

It sounded like a a tire explosion and then covered the ground with a real creepy fog.

The safety valve is 9 months old and the tank has been filled about 7 times.

What happened?

don't know about N20, but i have worked with compressed gasses, and that is scary when one goes!was it the bottle or the valve! where did it happen? any projectiles?

is your car a hatch? maybe the bottle sat in the sun under the glass and heated up, the gas expanded and blew out the tank. dont know why the valve didnt let it bleed off, maybe something holding it closed

The car is a hatch but I installed a blow down tube-thank God!!!

The car was in the shade and I've had the car in 100 degree temps before with no trouble.

It was both scary and also pretty *****in' cool-except that i just filled the bottle and was watching my $40 float away.

**** I watch 40 bucks float away in exhaust gases every time I drive my stang down the road and back

Did the tank physically rupture or did it blow down the blow-down tube?

ide say the bottle was over filled.

or owner error.
