Hey guys, I'm installing my nx 100 shot currently. I have a question, I have an sct xcal2 with a 93 octane tune, so I'm assuming the timing is maxed out, how much should I bump the timing down by?>?

it's tough to say without knowing exactly how much actual timing you are running.

What happened to you man?? And I am officially going to put the car back on the stock tune with the nitrous. What it the stock timing? I hear you should do 1 degree for every 50 shot, so should I bump it down by 2 degrees for my 100 shot??

Don't time the car by yourself. You'll end up blowing the engine. Take the car to a reputable tuner, and have the car tuned on the dyno.

I already have a tuner, so how much would it cost to get a flip chip with a n/a tune, and a nitrous tune?? Any guesses?

All you have to do is retard your timing four degree's
and you will be fine.I never had a SCT Xcal2 so, I
honestly couldn't tell you how to do it with that programer. You can do it yourself though.

Ok, so for now I'll put back the stock tune on the car and bump it down by 2 degrees with my 100 shot right?? I've got a window switch, a fuel pressure safety switch, and colder plugs, i should be all set right?? And is the saying you should retard your timing 1 degree for every 50 shot?

Yes you are correct sir.
The rule of thumb is retard your timing two degree's for every 50 shot.
If you have all the saftey goodies you should be fine don't worry about it
as long as you retard your timing two degree's.On my old 92 GT I was running
a Nitrous Express kit with 75hp jets.I would spray and only retard my timing
one degree and I never blew up my engine.

So maybe you think I could start on bumping the timing down 3 degrees, check my plugs, then if we're good try it at only 2 degrees?? Isn't the stock timing 10?? and how do you check the plugs if they're lean?? Arent they a specific color??

Yes the stock timing is ten degrees.
When you plan on spraying your hundred shot retard your timing a total
of four degrees so, you will be running a six degrees total timing when
you spray the nitrous. You could probably get away six or seven degrees
total timing but, if you want to be the safest than run six degrees of total
timing. It's not that hard really. If your spark plugs discolor that means that
you are running lean.If they are black that means you are running rich.

Easy enough, I'm really stoked to get my kit installed completely. I already have all the solenoids mounted and the jet is drilling into the intake, I'm just waiting on my darn bottle brackets. How hard is it to install a bottle heater, window switch, and purge kit??

Congrats I hope all go's we'll with your install.
It is quite easy to install.
The crazy thing is I didn't even have a rpm window switch and
I never blew up my engine.

Where did you connect the nitrous line under the car to run into under the hood?

I ran the nitrous line through the inside of the car under the
carpet and through the dash into the engine bay.
It was lots of fun taking out the the whole interior of my
car and then putting it all back.

I'd have it tuned on the dyno. It's just a safety precaution. Most places charge $100 an hour for tuning, and a tune for your nitrous will take about 2 hours. Plus you'll need to buy a Xcal2 if you don't have one. That'll cost about $400.
