Well i already had a set of drag radials on my a pair of 10 holes that i had but looked like crap with ponys up front. the mickey thompson et street radials hook so damn good at the track so i decided to make them my track tires. and since i needed a good tire out back i decided to go with the nitto 555r drag radial. regular street tires on the street are useless for traction and drag radials and the bfg's/m/t's wear too fast so i believe with a treadware of 100 and nitto claiming 15k mile life this will be a good compromise of the two. went with 245/50/16's. You guys have any expericence with these tires??

i have a similar question, what about BF's Comp T/A's? How do they grip on the street? Anyone know...and those nitto's should be made into a tire swing, not put on a car...my friend had them, he hated them, said they sucked ass...

lol they must be some crap tires if nobody has anything good to say about them! oh well i already ordered them and ill see how i like them. anything is better than a bald set off 225 winston winners that came with the car when i bought it last year.

mine lasted about 11k thats a good thing, but i just baught a set of M/T's

I would say if its your dd a set of nitto tripple nickles will do you well, just heat em up really well if your going to race

They have much better traction than any regular compound street tire you will find. The are made to be a compromise between good traction and o.k. treadwear...and they do a great job at it.

Sure, they wont launch as hard at the track as a bfg drag radial. They will however get decent traction and allow you to daily drive with the tire. They handle far better in corners than do the bfg dr's...and do much better in the rain as well.

I believe anyone who thinks nitto dr's are crap either have to high of expections for them or don't know how to launch with them.

They are not a slick...and you cannot simply dump the clutch launching them. They typically wont hook as well as bfg drag radial...but will last 10k+ miles more than them.

As I satated before, they are a great compramise between daily driveability and traction.

I had 2 sets of them and love em!! The 1st lasted 8000 miles. The second lasted 17,000 miles. There great in the rain..Granted they dont hook unless you heat them when its cool out but big deal! The only complaint I have with them is the noise from picking up every little rock and pebble you run over and they chip away the paint on your lower 1/4's from all the rocks!!
