305/35-18 = 26.4"
305/45-18 = 28.8" <---- Insanely huge. You would need adjustable LCA's just to get the damn thing on the car. Plus it would look like crap unless you were at a drag strip. Not to mention it would throw the ABS light.
I have no ABS light stock LCA's with BBK sport springs and Mach 1 struts and shocks.Looking like crap is your opinion,but have you personaly seen this set up?
Any 305(315) wide tires will be a bit slippery in heavy rain . I get about 6 to 8K with mine but I do burnouts , I'm not very carefull with them , I have to say that they hook very good on the street except when it's cold, the Nitto's thread look alot better then the BFG in my opinion and from what I heard the BFG are stickier then the Nittos ! If you have a power adder they will make a big difference when you launch ( either brand ) !
I drove mine in the rain a few times handled like a champ with moderate accelleration now i wouldent be going wot in the rain they are great for what you want them for
the ONLY problem with nitto DR's in the rain is the tread depth is about 1/2 of a normal "new" tire when they are made......also, most people drive on them when they are bald because they hook more and more as the tread wears down(in my experience).....they hydroplane because of the low tread depth....when accelerating in the rain from a stop i have found that the nitto DR's get WAY better traction vs. other z-rated tires i have used over the years(IMO)....be carefull for big puddles and you will be fine...they also work great around turns when it's wet, just drive with your head...not your ego
i run 14-17 PSI at the track with 275/40/17 nitto's....i have used nitto's for almost 3 years straight with "0" problems in the rain....you can't blame stupid driving on the tires...

I now have 20k on them...and let me tell you they are bald. I also have over 100 dragstrip runs with 5-7 second burnouts on each one. They hook like a champ when it's warm outside, or at the track. When it's cold outside though, they seem to suffer a bit more than a normal tire. Wet water traction now is quite a burden...but that's 100% due to my tread, or lack there of . Up to about 15k miles though, I was normally able to maintain freeway speeds (70-80mph) in the rain...unless your talking downpour, which you shouldnt be going that fast with any brand of tire.
