I have Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. 255/45/17 in front and 285/40/17 in back. They have been a great tire and are very reasonable. The fronts were less that $100! I have really liked them, but you have to consider your needs. Nitto is a great tire...no question about it. And the more agressive ones, would certainly out perform the Kumhos in a race.
My car is driven 99.999% on the street. I wanted a reasonably priced summer performance tire that worked great in the rain. And that's what I got. Also, I wanted the steam roller in the back, but was not ready for 315's. Kumho made the only 285 tire that I could find and I wanted something wider than a 275.

KaPPaBaLL said:nitto 555's are fine but not so great in the rain. they do tend to run smaller but the stock size is perfect for your stock rims (assuming). the yokohama AVS es100's are good to for $125. heard many great things about the Hankook Ventus tires for around $100 as well. the bfg KDWS are great all season tire.

I havent had an problems in the rain w/ my Nittos, hella lot better than stock!
