HELP! I adjusted the rockers the way Edds instructions said to and it would not start at first. I though this was a timing problem so I screwed around with that for an hour and nothing Finally I did a compression check after my dad told me about it and I come up with NOTHING on the passenger side, and only checked one drivers side and that read nothing too So now I have to go back and RE READJUST the rockers again. Can someone go more into detail about how to adjust them? Like when you stop tightning it down before you do the 1/2 turn and what not. Does the pushrod have to be where you cant spin it anymore or just to where it barely touches the pushrods and makes it harder to spin. Please help me!

Forgot to just put this in for comic relief (I need it right now )

After I got everything put back together and was trying to start it, I had the LOUDEST backfire I have ever heard. Sounded like someone just shot off a 12 gauge shot gun right next to me. Some guy driving by about 150ft away was staring at my car the whole time he passed But that probably blew out my slowmasters... Won't know until I get it running.

Wait, I don't understand how that could cuase such a problem. I think you start the 1/2 turn or 1/4 turn when you can't twist the pushrod with your fingers. If they keep turning, you probably have to use your best judgement.

Still, this seems odds to me. Hopefully someone who has more experience will know.

follow ed's instructions, but instead of twisting them, pick them up and down until the rocker just stops the pushrod from moving. what this does is establish 0 lash, then you tighten it down the extra half turn. oh when you are setting them to 0 lash just tighten them down by hand dont use a wrench. what is happening it sound like you are tightening them way past 0 lash, by tightening them until you cant spin the pushrod is causing the valves to hang open

If you way over did them, all the valves would hang open all the time, instead of closing. I suspect this would = no compression.

If you tighten until you cannot turn the pushrod, you've gone way, way too far. You only tighten them down until the pushrod gives resistance to being turned -- that way you know you're at zero lash. You can still easily turn the pushrod at that point. Then just do the extra 1/2 turn past zero lash and set the lock.

I know I over tightened them so I needed to know when to stop. Edds instructions wern't really that clear to me on that part. Thanks for the help.
