My buddy has a 95 gt, and on day he said he tried to take off and there was no first or second. Oh course I don't know if he jacked something up or what. I thought maybe a broke for or something? I don't know anything about transmission so...I compared it to my car. And first an second in his car now feels eaisier to move in and out of. Could something have come loose or broke?

Easiest thing would be to drain the ATF out of the transmission and see if it looks like a disco ball. If it's clean, then you probably don't have any gear damage. If it's "Disco Stu" time, then you likely will have some serious repairs to make.
Either way, you have a problem that requires removal, teardown & rebuilding. Do it now before something else breaks and you add to the bill.
