Yes you will the turbo will not spool till 3000 rpm and as long as you drive normal in town and dont launch it you will have 26-30 a gal still.

Often a Turbo improves Gas mileage, but also has the added benifit of more power. And if you are an invironment buff, it also can be cleaner burning than a regular motor.

Most def. better than a v8.

And as long as you drive smart the extra power can help avoid some bad situations on the road. (we are not talkin about flying down the interstate either).

Yeah I got an average of 22-31 mpg on a 2400 mile road trip to Southern California in all sorts of conditions running exactly the same as what my signature says.

30 mpg highway. Which is what I drive to school. and around 23-25 city.
Greg O-brien on TF gets 27mpg and is 407hp.
I don't know of any V8's at all there are remotely close to that.

Wait a minute. I thought you said that your brothers had 302's. And they wont help you drop in a turbocoupe because of fuel economy? Hmmm, I see something wrong with this picture. 2.3 turbo's get about the same economy as naturally asiprated 2.3's.

24 city/ 28 highway
I like to run a little spirited on the highway so it's usually 26.
I only get 28 on the highway when I have passengers.

Maybe they don't want to see you become gay from lack of displacement.
