Hey so I haven't got my new tailpipes in the mail and right now I don't really like starting up my car, even though I have a few things to iron out with this new setup. Exhaust wise I have BBK Equal Length Headers, Pacesetter X with weld on Pypes High Flow Cats, all 2.5 inch, 2.5 inch stainless flow tubes, 2.5 inch borla pro xs mufflers, now just waiting for my 2.5 inch tailpipes.

Will Tailpipes quiet it down quite a bit? Hoping so! And can't stand the smoke that seems to hover around the car without them. Literally don't want to touch the car till they arrive! I know it will help with the smoke but just more curious about the sound!

You should be ok driving the car with no problems. It will get annoying after a while with the exhaust exiting right under you but it won't hurt the car whatsoever. It should quiet the car down with the tailpipes. Actually it would just move the sound from right under you to out the ass end.:flag:

Cool, ya it sounds awesome when my dad is pulling it in the garage, I just would rather stand and watch from further away. Just sounds so much louder when your in the car! But it does kinda sound awesome!

i have had turndowns after the mufflers for about one year and I am sick of it. There was a thread on here last week where someone mentioned that they have a bottle of advil in their center counsil because of no tailpipes. very stinky, a lot of drone, makes your car dirty and dusty as hell, and gets old real quick. I have a 88GT and one tail pipe was starting to drop and hang a little low so I removed them and installed turndowns, I will be ordering new tailpipes soon! Like mentioned above, the car will not get much quieter, but having tailpipes moves the sound towards the back. I personally think the cars sound healthier with tailpipes

well obviously when the exhaust is exiting under the car you feel the vibration/pulsating against the pavement and car and also hear echoing.

so with tail pipes it will quiet it down what you hear and give it a nice tone.

Without good tailpipes, the Carbon Monoxide (CO) can get to you in stop and go traffic. It dosen't take much of that CO to make you woozy and rear end someone. BANG! There goes a lot of you hard work... :(

ive had dumps and o/r pipes on my car for a good 4-5 years and never once felt woozy driving it, but they are finally starting to get to me, and i think im gonna have a set of tailpipes made for the car...

ive been rollingwith no tailpipes since i did my exhaust in march. don't get many fumes but the sound of the flowmasters at 1800 rpms gets a little annoying after about 30 miles

Ya I definitely like the sound, and it isn't too loud when I'm standing outside behind a wooden fence hearing it pull in the garage, not way to loud, but I just think I will enjoy hearing the sound coming out the back not vibrating under me.

As I'm sure some of you know I've been doing some diagnostic testing with this car, jricher has been a huge help time and time again. So being in the garage checking codes and stuff, the fumes def. get to me, I have more than once got fed up with the smoke, even with some fans set up blowing out the garage door.

I thing my tailpipes should be hear by about tuesday or wed. at the latest. Was wishing they would be hear before the weekend so I can continue to try to iron things out.

Still less than 10 k on this new motor! Am getting eager! And wasn't able to get it running good enough for an emissions on my last 10 day temp. pass. So before I get my final 10 day temp. pass, only 2 alowed a year. I need to make sure it is running as good as possible so I can get it emissions tested. Otherwise I will be waiting till next year. I was really hoping I could drive this car a bit this summer.

Hopefully I can get it all worked out!

Cheers
