No Voltage To Check Engine Light

Hi,

So I'm tackling gremlins left by idiot previous owners and one such gremlin is the lack of a check engine light. Now orgininally I thought that it was just a bulb that the previous owner pulled. Upon replacing the bulb I found that the check engine light still didn't work. I then measured the voltage at the wires with the ignition on and there was none! Could anyone tell me what the cause of this would be? All the other lights & gauges appear to be functioning.

Thanks

Now the "check oil" should work it has lit up in the past on mine. If you have a low oil sensor on your oil pan that light should work.

The only way I know if there is a code present on mine is to check it periodically with a code reader.

OK, well I actually have another "Check Oil" light in the lower warning light set near the ignition switch, not in the gauge cluster. But there's a spot for a lamp and I can clearly read "Check Oil" in the cluster where the missing bulb was. I was just curious about that. Thanks for the info!
