So I'm getting ready to tear back into the clutch area of my '90 LX 5.0 (116,000 miles), and had a couple of questions.
I get a knocking/cyclic sound coming from the bellhousing area when the car is in neutral and I let off the clutch pedal; my guess is the TOB. I also get the same sound when slowing down (not using brakes). Doesn't matter if I'm in gear or not, or if the clutch is pushed in. I can also feel this as a vibration through the shifter.
The clutch still grabs just fine, and the car is stock except for exhaust. My plan is to replace the TOB and pilot bearing and hope that fixes it.
How can I tell if I need to replace the clutch fork and pivot points also?
What all do I need to grease while I'm there? TOB, pivot points for the clutch fork?
