About the car: 1997 Cobra, 100,000 kms (~60k miles).
About Me: Mechanically inclined: I've done 5.0 engine builds, replaced suspensions springs/a-arms/control arms, brakes, transmission/clutch remove/replace, etc.
I have some sort of noise coming from what I am pretty sure is the rear end (and more specifically the rear passenger area). Its not a howl like a rear-end gear set, more of a dragging noise. My current guesses is a dragging rear disk brake caliper or a rear wheel bearing starting to go bad. Noise does not change significantly when I step on the brakes. Rear diff fluid level was good at last check (last summer) and there are no leaks present.
Before I start digging, I wanted to ask if this sort of description rings any bells for people in terms of common problems.
Do cobras of various years have an excessively noisy interior? For all I know, I might just have general road/tire noise (but I dont think so).
I have only owned the car a year, and I *think* the noise has been there from the beginning, but I am not sure. Also, the noise *seems* to be louder now than before, but not drastically louder - it *might* be getting gradually louder.
Lets hear your ideas on what this might be.
TIA,
Chris
