I did a rebuild of the front end on my 1968 mustang. I used grab a track parts from mustang plus with there 620 front springs. After about a week of driving it started making a snaping noise and it sounds like it is coming from the shock towers, but I am not sure. I have gone back and retightened all bolts and regreased everything with no change in the noise. Has anyone had this problem after a rebuild. Thanks Greg

Your UCA bushings are dry. Mine did the same thing, I took them apart and did the Mustang Steve mod on them to allow the grease to travel the length of the thread. They're nice and quiet now :nice:

When lowering the front of a '65, it is not uncommon for the sway bar to make contact with the frame rail when the suspension compresses a bit (during braking or turning). I'm not sure if the same problem may occur on a '68, but it's easy enough to make sure you've got clearance between the sway bar and frame to allow for max suspension travel.

The symptom is a loud 'clack' sound on hard braking or turning, perhaps made worse when you've got additional people (or other weight) in the car. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replys. I think I will pull the springs back out to see if the UCB are dry and check if the spring isolators were seated right. What is the Mustang steve mod to get more grease in them.
