NOISEY 4.10s in my 03 GT

Just put a set of 4.10s in my GT, love the performance but at about 110mph there is some noise, sound like road noise.
Is this normal as the trans is running faster!!!, it is not a damageing sort of noise but you can feel it like road noise, i have got Roush lowers with poly stock uppers with rubber and billet axle housing bushings and eibach pro lines, have i done anything wrong here

From what I understand, gear noise peaks at 30-40mph as well as multiples of those speeds, IOW 60-80 etc depending upon the particular noise and speed.
So if you get a noise at say 43mph, chances are you will get it at 86mph as well.

I'm not sure about manuals but I know for a fact that the AODE tail shaft is spinning like crazy with anything over 3.73 and it's wise to install the oiler mod on the tranny as the bushing is a weak spot.

Do you get the same, or similar sound at say 50-55mph?

That sounds like your driveshaft. I had the same thing!

HI ive noticed you have got a lightweight drive shaft, did this sort out the problem or was it the axle shafts that were causing the noise

That's interesting.
I've had drive shaft humming before but only when the universal joints were on their way out.

What makes the light weight drive shaft hum?
