noisy coverter?

Is it normal for our cars with stock H pipe to make nosie after shutting the car off? It sounds like its coming from the cats under the floor boards...like a "tick tick tick" noise...is that just the the heat shield and cat cooling down at different rates? I dont think the cats are clogged as theres no sulfur smell or bright red burning glow on the cats...just curious if this is normal noise?

My 95 did it as well. I figured it was my cats cooling down. Never heard it after i nixed them.

ok kool I figured it was normal..to me it sounds like a motorcycle cooling down after being rode hard. Ive never owned a v8 car that had cats on it so I wasnt sure if is because of cats and maybe the factory "tube" manifolds/headers...
