Hey Eveyone,

I 've Got noisly Lifters, But this is a brand new engine so im wondering If Everything Just needs broken In. I have Gt40 Heads Completely redone Springs Valves and all and E-303 Cam , Ford Racing pushrods (stock Length) and Ford Racing Lifters. and Comp Cams. I think there 1.7's but they might be 1.6 cant remember. Would I have a problem with that setup or is everything just breaking in I haven even Ran a Tank of gas though the car yet but it sounds like a sewing machine . And yes I tighten the rockers to Tourqe specs.

your lifters should not have any noise at all. who did your engine work? What do you mean when you say your rockers ar "torqued" to spec? your supposed to bring to zero lash and just tighten up the locknut a bit with an allen key. Unless of course u have self adjusting rockers. Other than that maybe im just used to working on my own engine lol. either way, something isnt right an its just slappin away in there. if it indeed is lifter issue, your gonna have to pull the lifters and replace whatever one is bad

edit: i should mention that the only time you should hear any tapping is on the initial startup but will go away within 30 secs. the lifters are hydraulic and need to fill up with oil. so after running a few secs the noise should have faded away after they filled themselves up.

so your rockers are noisy. Did you do the rocker adjustments yourself? what brand rockers are they? Just lookin for more info. I beleive the problem is that your rockers arent correctly adjusted. I have all trick flow stuff and they are vry quiet

I'm just guessing, but do you have pedestal rockers(with the Allen bolt holding them down)? If so, the process for adjusting them is more tedious than for stud rockers. The pedestals must be shimmed to get the right amount of lifter preload. Crane Cams has a good instruction set on their site for installing pedestal rockers under Technical Help > Installation Instructions > Cam & Valvetrain > Rocker Arms > Ford Pedestal Mount Rocker Arms.

My '93 Cobra/Crane pedestal rockers make some noise, but no more than any other set of properly adjusted roller rockers that I have heard.
