Whenever I put any pressure on the clutch pedal I get this noise kinda like when you turn your steering wheel all the way to one side,It pretty much sounds like that but with a hint of a whirling sound as well.it started out only happening when I would first start driving the car after sitting overnite, but now it is allways there.could the noise be the T/O bearing when it contacts the p-plate?

Yeah I had that with my last throw out. If I sat in any traffic I had to make sure to put it in neutral or else it would start making noise after a little while. It was more of a whirring than anything.

If the cable wasnt preloaded, the TOB isnt held against the PP's diaphram fingers. This can allow the TOB to slop around a bit, eating it and the bearing retainer.

If the noise is occuring now while depressing the clutch, I'd be prepared to get new parts and replace the TOB and inspect/replace the bearing retainer (with a steel unit).

Good luck.

Hissin50, I have a question about what you said above, but I dont want to hijack this thread, so I'm going to post a new topic "Firewall clutch adjuster".

Thanks.

Jeff

Jeff, I saw the thread and will hold off on posting (on that thread) till you get some input from others (without being tainted by an opening-reply from me).
