Hey, I was driving down the highway and I hit some metal sign in the middle of the road, it went to work underneath the car and then went flopping down the road. Afterwards there was a lot of noise that wasn't previously there. I think its coming from the transmission. Do you guys know what that darn sign could have done? Oh yea I tried my best not to hit it, but I only made it down to about 55 before I tagged the thing! I got :owned:

there are a ton of things that sign could have done, I know when I hit the mistery metal ( a large piece the size of a football ) it put a huge dent in my cat and passenger floor pan. The only thing you can do to know for sure is suck it up and crawl under there. I know how sickening it feels to eat something like that, I had no where to go, and I drug it about 100 feet before I hit a bump and it came out. It sucked

I would get rid of the car and sell the car. My wife went over a curb with my 2000 GT and scraped the exhaust and part of the undercarraige. I ended up selling the car and buying a brand new 2001 GT. I never let her drive any of my Mustangs ever again.

I would NEVER hold on to a car that's been banged up underneath anywhere on the undercarraige. You will have nothing but problems if you do.

I straddled a curb in my Stang and never had any problems later.

Check your driveshaft. Might have bent it or part of the sigen wrapped itslef around it.

 That would scare the crap out of me! I would say the best thing to do is just crawl under there and see if you can find any visual damage. Hate to say it, but most likely you will find some.
