Hey guys. I just bought a 302 block to start a project motor with. The block is in great shape. I bought it as a 97 roller cam block.

My first question is. I'm not sure it's a roller motor. How can I be sure? I've never worked on a roller cam motor before so I'm not sure what makes it one. This is the block I got.

Next question is what Cars came with 302's in 97? I'm assuming it was just the trucks and explorer?

And last (for now) I heard the stock cranks are bullit proof. I'm looking to build a turbo motor to make around 500-600 hp. Will a stock crank work or should I look into getting a forged Crank?

Thanks,
Mike

Looks like a Roller block to me from looking at the oil gallery with the holes in the center. If you plan on putting down 600+ horsepower i wouldnt use a stock block or anything really stock i'd go with Dart block or buy a CHP or DSS motor, thats just what i would do. But yeah you are right 5.0's can take a lot of abuse.
