Noob to AN fittings, help

OK who has the trick to get the end fittings on AN braided line?
I have Earls hardware and hose for my remote fuel pressure guage sending unit and I cannot for the life of me get the end's on the hose. I only have basic hand tools. Whats the trick to getting this stuff together?
