After years without a mustang I am picking up a 1995 red Gt Convertible. Here are the details. The engine has the stock bottom end with 80,000 miles, Trick flow 350Hp combo(heads, intake, cam, roller rockers, etc), Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger, 30lb injectors, MSD distributor, new Tremec 5-speed with centerforce clutch, fresh 8.8 rear with either 3:73 or 4:10 with a girdle. I am trading my Z28 for the mustang. Being an auto tech I have checked the mustang from top to bottom and it is in very good shape. I have 2 issues I need your advice on. The car Is not running quite right. I believe that all these parts were bolted on with out a proper tune. I am a little new to this. The motor surges at idle and is runing very rich. I plan on adding an AEM wide band a/f gauge. Should I take this to a dyno shop and have them tune this or is there a way I can do this myself. My second question is properly tuned how much HP shold the car be making. THe Z28 I am trading for the car is in the 10.90's. I would like to be rinning mid 11's with the mustang is that possible? Also I notice thay don't offer intercoolers for the 5.0 only the 4.6's is there a reason for that? I am also already planning a 347 stroker. THanks

you could take the car to a professional tuner to fix the driveability problems it currently has. there are also a few tuners you can buy to tune the car yourself. the twEECer and the anderson motorsport pms are the first that come to mind. i dont have any personal experience with either of them but there is a tuning forum on this website that from what i understand is a great forum to use to help you learn to self tune your car. with a good tune and some boost and the trickflow top end, i would think your car is easily capable of mid to low 11s.

Thanks guys, the tweecer rt looks like what I need. I have tried the normal thing to stop the surging. Unfortunatly I feel the ECM's stock tune can't handle all the parts that have been added to the car.

Yea I hate to do it. I have quite a bit of work in the z28. I think the mustang is a fair trade. There is a ton of money in the mustang and it is a little more daily driver friendly. The Z28 probably only gets 6 miles to the gallon.

Still its a nice camaro.:nice: Its also not a turd-gen(a camaro guy actually told me that one:) ) so the build quality cant be that bad.

Do you know what kind of tremec it has....cuz Tremec now makes the T-5's. Just dont wanna see you blow that thing up right after you buy it.

looks pretty sharp man...I sold my last 80 camaro because I needed a near more emissons and gas mileage friendly car to haul my two year old in. I love the sn95's so much more now. EFI and v8's are cool
