I have a 2000 GT and was interested in purchasing MPH 2.5 heads and VT stage 1 cams. If I ordered these together, would they come assembled together or not. Also I would have to take my long tubes off to do this, so do you think it would be worth all the work to do this? Thanks.

I don't think they come assembled togther, unless you bought the block. You should plan a little road trip and have them put it in your car for you. I know or read about guys driving all the way from Texas and other states that go there to get work done. I should be ashamed because I only stay about 30 minutes away and I haven't been there yet..:nonono: But that's if you can take off work.

The head and cam swap should definitely be worth it. Other than a power adder or a gear change, upgrading the heads and cams are your next best power increaser. But I don't think companies make aftermarket heads for the 4.6, but companies just port the stock PI heads. So if you know someone who ports heads, just have your stock heads ported instead of buying some more. I don't know how much power you want to make, but if you're staying n/a your stock bottom is good. But adding a power adder, which you probably will later on, cause let's face it, in today's world of 600+HP EVOs, 500HP Subarus, Z06s, and cammed Camaros. Head and cam swaps on Mustangs ain't gonna cut the mustartd,it would be wise to beef up that stock bottom while you're upgrading. Then you can slap on a blower and turn up the boost without fear of something breaking on you...But good luck :nice:

i'm sure MPH will bolt the cams in for you but they may charge you a few dollars labor....call them and ask.It will make shipping easier with them installed. Rhonda will tell you.
Yes you will have to unbolt your headers and yes it will be worth it.

0k I gotta ask why your thinking stg 1 cams with ported heads? Why not a slightly bigger cam. a stg2 or maybe the comp 270's? Are you worried about loss of lowend?

yes , get stage 2 cams .and if your worried about loss of lowend , then just slap on some good gears and your all set. And yes its worth it IMO
