i was just looking at the "contains 10% ethenol" sticker while i was filling up today and had a feeling that this was not gonna be good for us stangers.

They just recently started to do this down here in the Houston area. I have no tune, and my car seems to be quite a bit more sluggish.

Most of the gas in our area is 10% Ethanol. But the Mobil stations and shell station don't have those stickers. i get better gas mileage and there gas isn't that much more exspensive. My car isn't tuned luckily but i have a feeling it would be a problem.

are you talking about the mobil and shell near Stop and Shop? Those are 10% ethanol blend... across route 9 from them, the Sunoco is 100% gas and it's the same price so I get my fuel there. Stupid blending

Yea, im down in Houston as well and saw the "Contains Ethanol" sticker while filling up and got pissed. According to the news, the price of gas will drop at the end of may because most refineries will switch to the ethanol blend

Ethanol does have a higher octane, but you need to use more fuel. You start to go lean when you run on a 100% gas tune. Guys that are pinging, have you tried to up your fuel mixture?

im not sure if i have seen any of this lately when i fill up, but if i do can i go into the user adjustability on my xcal2 and add some fuel? is this the best thing to do for a boosted stang? i will call dynospeed tommorrow, but i may need to fill up tonight. this blows.

im not sure if i understang completly but if this is the case couldnt you just get a retune for the ethenol and run that from then on?

I use 87 and the only time my car pings is when I don't let the car warm up enough before I stomp on it. If the temp is in the middle she won't ping.

I have ran into some crappy fuel up in conway and around other towns around there, it caused me to ping and whatnot.. but if you use any of the Shell gas stations up there, or down here in Russellville, it's good stuff. I've been running lots of timing and no pinging, i've never had a problem with their gas. 93 Octane, that is

imblown....let me know what your tuner thinks. im just very concerned because i have been building this car for a blower. i have to see what the outcome is with all this.

i really like to keep this car and finish the job getting it blown and all, but it its going to be a problem i might have to sell it and get somthing that is fast off the showroom floor. (zo6, m3, 03 cobra) although my car now is as fast as an m3, and i really like the mustang better that is why i bought it to begin with.

you are correct my friend, i think the optimum ratio is like 12:1 or 10:1
you have to add like 30-40% more fuel if running E85

yes. this consists of dumping more fuel in to make up for the leaner burn. also timing should be adjusted accordingly.
