NOS bottle position??

Hey guys.. i dont know if there is a thread about this already but on my 1994 GT vert where would i put the 15lbs bottle in the trunk? I already have the battery box on the passenger rear tire. Should i move the battery box to the other side? help me out thanks!

What about a RSD and mount it to that?

If your going to run it at the track your best bet would be in the trunk. NHRA looks at our back seat as a firewall and you do not need a blow down tube. If you mount it on a RSD you will need a blow down tube and the bottle will be right out in the open.

You can mount it on the other side of the trunk. Just make sure you have the bottle setup at the correct angle with the feed tube as low as possible.

Right now the bottles hook up is pointing down.. i might make a platform in the trunk for it. Hope to see good numbers on the track... with a 125 shot. thanks for the insight

Yes there needs to be an angle. Mounting brackets are already setup to give you that angle so if you use those no hassle. N2o is a liquid inside the bottle so think if it like a big 2 "liter of cola". It is angled down to help keep as much of that liquid at the bottom were the pick up tube is.

The bottle hook up pointing down is also a good point. The reason is there is a tube that runs down the bottle and has an angle at the end kinda like a j. With the hook up pointing down it means the bottom of the j is at the lowest point of the bottle if mounted at an angle. This will allow you to get the most of your bottle contents out. Remember n2o is liquid inside the bottle and the phase change is what causes it to super cool as it is giving off so much heat (the gas is around -125 so watch those fingers/hands).

While engaging in some "street" style contests of speed challenges...I would wedge my bottle behind the drivers seat. With the hump in the floor were I rested the hook up/line area of the bottle. I would rotate the bottle so the fill tube would still be as low as possible and give me the best access to turn on the bottle. I would then cover it with coats/shirts so the backseat looked a mess. I would not suggest this as it can get you into some trouble...
